Story

The Blooming Table… is simply Allison Johansen and her vision for creating seasonally inspired events using locally sourced food, fresh bouquets of flowers and delicate lighting to create and intimate, memorable event for you.

Allison has grown up and lived most of her life here in the Pacific Northwest; spending her younger years in Eugene, going off to college in Seattle and finally settling down in Portland, Oregon. While she studied fine art in school, she found herself drawn to the food industry by cooking for friends all through college, working in a variety of restaurants and loving to grow and cook her own food for those around her. She loves all aspects of entertaining, including the feel of the event, not just the menu. She found herself as a florist for awhile, but came back to cooking because of how it creates such a rich community.

She lives with her husband, young son and a selection of animals on over an acre in a lovingly restored, 100+ year old home where she gardens and has a small farm filled with heirloom fruit trees and flowers. She started The Blooming Table to incorporate all of her loves and help share them with others, creating events where the hosts just need to show up and enjoy themselves.
